Cornhole/ Cornhole Toss History
There are many stories about the origin of the game of Cornhole. It's roots are tied to the 14th century Germans. A version of the game was widely popular among many as a favorite means of recreation. Which certainly gives credence that the American version of the game first originated in Cincinnati Ohio. Since Cincinnati is known for it's strong German roots, it would only be logical to make the conclusion that someone brought the game from Germany to Cincinnati.
Not so fast though. There are other stories that claim Cornhole was started in hills of Kentucky. Which also has some credibility since that seems to be where the game became popular around 1999 and has progressively moved to encompass a large part of the midwest.
Further still, there are those that claim Cornhole was started by a midwestern farmer named Jebediah Magillicutty.
So, what's the most accurate story of the games history? No one knows for sure. Accept everyone has their own version of where the game orginated and they all sware to it's authenticity. What we do know for sure is that whether you call it Cornhole Toss, Bean Bag Toss or Soft Horseshoes, it's a great summer time game that is highly addictive.
